The university’s primary donor is the Georgian Chanting Foundation. The university’s success islargely defined by the foundation’s support. Restoration and reinforcement of the university’sresearch component as well as infrastructure was really managed through the efforts of thisfoundation.The foundation has established special scholarships for honors students at the university. Since2013, university graduates with high academic achievement have been employed by the foundationin various regions within Georgia, where they form chanters and singers choirs. In 2016, the projectextended beyond Georgia and included parishes in Europe.In 2017, a student employment project started operations through the initiative of the GeorgianChanting Foundation. The project’s goal is to support extant folk and chant choirs in the Georgianregions and renew their repertoire. In the years 2017-19, the project was implemented in themountainous region of Achara, and in Samegrelo, Lechkhumi and Tianeti.

The Georgian Chanting Foundation

In the 2016-17 academic year, the university was given Music Technology Studio with equipment at international standards through a private contribution from the Georgian Chanting Foundation and its general director Nana Gotua. Here the students learn notation software, gain mastery of the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of recording acoustic music, restore old and new archival material, and participate in expeditions conducted in various regions within Georgia.
