On November 4-5, Dean of Giorgi Mtatsmindeli University of Chanting, Assoc. Professor Zurab Tskrialashvili visited the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music (PISM) in Rome, where he held workshops on Georgian traditional music.
The students of the institute listened to the history of Georgian chant and folk songs and studied musical examples. The goal is to popularize Georgian traditional music. The workshops ended with a concert.
The dean of University of Chant also had an official meeting with the rector of PISM, Padre Robert Mehlhard, to discuss further cooperation. International partnership is a priority for the University of Chant. The Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music is one of those with whom a memorandum was signed in May 2022 and we are actively cooperating.
