Assistant Professor

In 1991-1996 he studied in Tbilisi State Conservatoire named after V. Sarajishvili. He graduated from the faculties of musicology (ethnomusicology) and orchestra (wind, clarinet).
In 1993-1994, he sang in the ensemble of the Tbilisi Medical Institute.
In 1994-1998, he sang in the ensemble “Georgika”.
In 1995-1997, he sang in the ensemble “Ilion”.
Since 1998, he has been singing in the ensemble “Georgian Voices”.
Since 1999, he has been singing in the Anchiskhati choir (“Anchiskhati” ensemble).
Since 2006, he has been working at Giorgi Mtatsmindeli Higher School of Church and Folk Singing.
Since 2013, he has been working at State Center of Folklore of Georgia as the head of the direction of church singing.

Fields of scientific interest / research interests

Phonics, harmony, regularities and parallels of Georgian folk song and church chant in relation to polyphonic cultures of the world (especially Europe).
