On November 16-25, 2025, two students of the 2nd year bachelor’s program of the University of Chant – Tekla Kublashvili and Malkhaz Lazaria – were on a study visit to the University of Eastern Finland (Joensuu, Finland).
The main purpose of the study visit was to participate in the educational process of the Department of Church Music. The students attended practical and theoretical classes in conducting and chanting. They also held a Georgian chanting and singing workshop within the framework of Professor Maria Takala’s course “Orthodox and Oriental Chant Traditions”. They participated in the Orthodox liturgy and chanted part of the Eucharist in Georgian with the students of the University of Eastern Finland.
Their visit was coordinated on site by the Deputy Head of the School of Theology of the University of Eastern Finland, Associate Professor of the Department of Church Music, Dr. Maria Takala-Roszczenko.
