On September 25-28 of 2023, a scientific expedition was carried out in the historical and ethnographic museum of Svaneti within the framework of the winning project in the 2022 competition of state scientific grants for fundamental research (“Passion Week Hymns in the Georgian Church Tradition” FR-22-7504).

The head of the project Prof. Tamar Chkheidze and the young scholar, nun Nino Samkharadze conducted research on two unique manuscripts preserved in the Historical-Ethnographic Museum of Svaneti in Mestia – Iadgaris  (Hymnographic collection)of Ieli (10th century) and Tsvirmi (10th century). The research area of the scientific group includes the hymns of the Passion Week and the irmoses of the Virgin Mary.
