The internationalization policy and mechanisms of the Giorgi Mtatsmindeli  University of Chant is a regulation which emphasize internationalization as a strategic priority embedded in the University’s mission, vision and strategic plan, aimed at integrating its activities into the global higher education system, expanding international partnerships, implementing joint research projects and facilitating staff and student mobility.

The policy defines three main goals:

  1. Raising awareness of the University internationally.
  2. Establishing and strengthening cooperation with foreign higher education institutions, scientific-research institutes, and creative organizations.
  3. Promoting international mobility of students, academic and administrative staff.

To achieve these goals, the University employs a range of mechanisms, including participation of staff and students in international forums, conferences, symposiums, festivals, concerts, master classes, workshops and other similar events; Adoption of best practices inclusion of foreign language components, joint research and the pursuit of international funding; Creating opportunities for international mobility of personnel and students (study/research abroad, exchange semesters, summer-winter schools, etc.), as well as participating in exchange programs and joint projects; Ensuring implementation of exchange educational programs and joint projects with partner universities within the framework of their own, as well as local and international grant funding; Caring about raising awareness among students and personnel about international scholarships, events, and projects.

The policy identifies indicators for assessing policy implementation, such as growth in international partnerships, membership in international networks, participation in mobility programs, research aligned with international standards and successful acquisition of grants.

 

The internationalization strategy is stated in the third strategic objective of Chant University’s Strategic Development Plan is “the development of international relations and promotion of internationalization”. Strengthening internationalization is crucial for integrating the University into the global higher education system, expanding its network of partners, fostering joint research and enhancing student mobility. To achieve this, the University has defined a set of strategic objectives:

Objective 1. Establish new partnerships and further develop existing collaborations with leading international higher education institutions and research centers in the field of the arts;

Objective 2. Intensify international cooperation in scientific research and introduce joint research practices;

Objective 3. Promote active participation in international festivals and conferences, including through financial support;

Objective 4. Support international mobility through cooperation with relevant funds and donor organizations.
